STOP THE TAMIL TIGER SMUGGLING SHIP -- ANOTHER COSTLY BOATLOAD OF ILLEGALS

Concerned Calgarians will join Paul Fromm, Director of the Canada First Immigration Reform Committee, Monday, August 8,  at 10:00 a.m at the Constituency Office of Jason Kenney, Minister of Immigration and Multiculturalism, (1168 137 Ave, SE, Calgary, AB) to present a letter and petition calling on the minister to stop a shipload of 200 Tamil illegals now approaching Canadian waters.

A Thai-registered boat, the Sun Sea, is captained by a Tamil Tiger leader and reportedly is carrying about 200 would-be refugees claimants. Canada lists the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Elam (LTTE) as a terrorist group. Several of their fundraising fronts have been shut down by the Federal Government.

“We’re calling on Minister Kenney to make it clear that the Sun Sea will not be allowed into Canadian waters,” Mr. Fromm announced. “We’ve had a Facebook site for two weeks urging people to write to their MPs and to Mr. Kenney urging that the boat not be allowed to land.

“It’s a matter of national sovereignty,” Mr. Fromm added. “Foreign ships up to no good should not be allowed into Canadian waters. Foreign ships engaged in human smuggling operations should not gain admittance to Canadian waters on principle:  human smuggling is illegal.  Other grounds include what is in the best interest of Canadians - what is in the best interest of human cargo destined to be utilized as sweated labour, or more chillingly, as operatives - and what is in the best interest of an ethnic community that has long endured Tiger fundraising shakedowns without recourse to Canada's legal remedies,” Mr. Fromm argued.

“When these 200 illegals land, the Canadian taxpayers will be put to huge expenses in terms of processing them and then showering them with most of the rights of Canadian citizens – welfare, public housing, medicare, legal aid, dental care, language and job training – through the years it will take to assess their refugee claims and subsequent appeals,” he explained.

“Canada is being played as a patsy by the Tamil Tigers,” Mr. Fromm charges. “Last fall, they sent two probes, a ship to Australia and one to Canada,” he explains. “Australia sent the Tiger boat packing and wouldn’t allow them to land. Canada went out and welcomed them into Canadian waters. Despite the fact that we suspected at least a third of those on board were Tiger militants. Residue of both drugs and explosives were found on their clothes. Most of the men in their 20s or 30s could give no account of their education or work history over the past decade, strongly suggesting they were tiger soldiers. And, yet, this lot is loose in Canada and the cash register just keep ka-chinging with the Canadian taxpayer footing the bill.”

“The Sun Sea is just the beginning of an all-out invasion” Mr. Fromm warns. The Globe and Mail (August 5, 2010) warned that at least two more Tiger ships are prowling Asian waters to see whether Canada will again prove a wimp and allow the incursion.

“I’m calling on Jason Kenney to do his job and protect our borders,” Mr. Fromm insists. “ He must act as Captain Canada and protect our sovereignty as Brian Tobin did some years ago when foreign fishing vessels were looting our fishing grounds.”
