The Right Honourable Stephen Harper.

Prime Minister,

House of Commons,

Ottawa, ON.,K1A 0A6

Re: SEND THE TAMIL ILLEGALS BACK

Dear Mr. Harper:

We, the undersigned, are disappointed and disillusioned by the weakness of your government in light of the intrusion into Canadian waters on the Thai-registered NV Sun Sea, a boat your government has identified as a people smuggling operation. On August 13, the Canadian Government escorted this vessel of illegals into CFB Esquimalt. The smugglers had won.

Now the long process or “refugee” claims begins. The cost to Canadians will be horrific. We’ll, of course, pay for the government lawyers and investigator

We applaud your government’s efforts to secure national sovereignty: a) the purchase of new transport planes for our armed forces; b) purchase of new fighters for our airforce; c) assertion of Canadian sovereignty in the Arctic; d) new measures of assert a presence in our Arctic in furtherance of our claims.

However, your government has given the Tamil Tiger people smugglers a cheap victory. They have won. Smuggling works and the stern warnings of Public Safety Minister Vic Toews are just an act. Not surprisingly, emboldened by our wimpish response, the Tamil Tiger smugglers have two more boats loading up and heading for Canada.

British Columbians couldn’t help but notice that, after the closing of hospital wings and curtailment of health services for “budgetary reasons,” austerity suddenly flew out the window and there were plenty of medical services available to people who had never contributed a cent to Canada and who had sneaked in uninvited. We urge you to: Cease these hearings and deport all these illegals;

The polls are unequivocal. Canadians want these queue jumping illegals out!

  • A Toronto Star reader’s poll asked, “Should the Tamil illegals be turned back before arriving?” Fully 78% answered YES; 16% NO. (Toronto Star, August 15, 2010)

  • The Toronto Sun commissioned  a Leger Marketing poll when the illegals were still on the high seas, August 2-4. It found 60% of Canadians believed that the illegals “should be turned away [and] the boat should be escorted back to Sri Lanka by the Canadian Navy.” The numbers of those believing you should never have let the illegals land soared to 74% in your own home province of Alberta. (Toronto Sun, August 20, 2010)
  • An Angus Reid poll taken last week found 63% of Canadians believe the illegals should be sent back to Sri Lanka. “Another 83 per cent of respondents felt the migrants are jumping the immigration queue and should be forced to apply like other foreigners who want to come to the country. … Another 83 per cent of respondents felt the migrants are jumping the immigration queue and should be forced to apply like other foreigners who want to come to the country.” (CTV, August 19, 2010)

Regain control of Canada’s borders by introducing legislation in Parliament, using Sec. 33 of our Constitution (“the notwithstanding” clause) to overturn the revolutionary 1985 decision by the Supreme Court of Canada granting virtual Canadian citizen rights to illegals. To secure our borders, we urge you to introduce legislation specifying that the only way to seek immigration or refugee status is to apply and be vetted abroad. No more flying in or sailing into Canada, jumping the queue and announcing “I’m a refugee.”

Prime Minister, it’s time to put Canada and Canadians first and regain control of our borders.

Sincerely yours,

HAMILTONIANS PROTEST: STOP THE TAMIL TIGER SMUGGLING SHIP

HAMILTONIANS PROTEST:

STOP THE TAMIL TIGER SMUGGLING SHIP

HAMILTON:  August, 21, 2010. Two dozen concerned Hamiltonians and supporters of the Canada First Immigration Reform Committee  gathered today in the late afternoon at the War Memorial in Gore Park (King and John Streets) to gather signatures on a letter to the Prime Minister to protest  the government’s decision to allow a boatload of illegals to enter Canadian waters last. This was part of a nation-wide series of such rallies.

A similar rally in Calgary netted several thousands of signatures, “a hell of a lot of sheets filled,” said organizer Kyle McKee.

Hundreds of signatures were gathered in an hour as young activists went up and down King Street asking passersby to sign the letter to Mr. Harper. In some cases, the petitions were literally snatched out of their hands by people eager to register their outrage at the government’s weakness.

A Thai-registered boat, the Sun Sea, captained by a Tamil Tiger leader  smuggled 492 would-be refugee claimants. Canada lists the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Elam (LTTE) as a terrorist group. Several of their fundraising fronts have been shut down by the Federal Government.

“The Government has totally failed to protect Canada and Canadians,” said Paul Fromm, Director of the Canada First Immigration Reform Committee. This is part of a Tamil Tiger people smuggling operation. Public Safety Minister Vic Toews says Canada is against “people smugglers” but letting these sneaks in through the backdoor just rewards the “people smugglers.”

“It’s a matter of national sovereignty,” Mr.  Fromm insists. “Foreign ships up to no good should not be allowed into Canadian waters. Foreign ships engaged in human smuggling operations should not gain admittance to Canadian waters on principle:  human smuggling is illegal.  Other grounds include what is in the best interest of Canadians - what is in the best interest of human cargo destined to be utilized as sweated labour, or more chillingly, as operatives - and what is in the best interest of an ethnic community that has long endured Tiger fundraising shakedowns without recourse to Canada's legal remedies.”

The Canadian taxpayers will be put to huge expenses in terms of processing the 492 Tamils then showering them with most of the rights of Canadian citizens – welfare, public housing, medicare, legal aid, dental care, language and job training – through the years it will take to assess their refugee claims and subsequent appeals. Victoria hospitals have already been put on alert for tuberculosis cases.  Permitting such people to enter Canada could be a serious health disaster.

“Canada is being played as a patsy by the Tamil Tigers,” Mr. Fromm insisted.  Last fall, they sent two probes, a ship to Australia and one to Canada. Australia sent the Tiger boat packing and wouldn’t allow them to land. Canada went out and welcomed them into Canadian waters. “Despite the fact that we suspected at least a third of those on board were Tiger militants. Residue of both drugs and explosives were found on their clothes. Most of the men in their 20s or 30s could give no account of their education or work history over the past decade, strongly suggesting they were tiger soldiers. And, yet, this lot is loose in Canada and the cash register just keep ka-chinging with the Canadian taxpayer footing the bill,” Mr. Fromm charged

“The polls are unequivocal,” said Mr. Fromm. “Canadians want these queue jumping illegals out!”

The Sun Sea is just the beginning of an all-out invasion. The Globe and Mail (August 5, 2010) warned that at least two more Tiger ships are prowling Asian waters to see whether Canada will again prove a wimp and allow the incursion.

The Government spent a billion dollars to protect some foreign diplomats meeting in Toronto for the G-8 and G-20 meetings. “It’s time they started protecting Canada and Canadians,” said Mr. Fromm.

“Send the illegals back!” shouted one young unemployed man from Hamilton as he grabbed a sign and joined the protest.

Send the Illegals Back, London Protesters Tell Harper

LONDON:  August, 22, 2010. Inspired by a talk by Canada First Reform Committee Director Paul Fromm on the shameless scam being perpetrated on this Dominion by the Tamil Tiger terrorists people smuggling operation, 20 people from London, most of them under 30, protested today outside the local offices of the Department of Immigration at Queen and Richmond to gather signatures on a letter to the Prime Minister to protest  the government’s decision to allow a boatload of illegals to enter Canadian waters. This was part of a nation-wide series of such rallies.

They were joined by Saskatchewan activist, Terry Tremaine.  He was featured earlier in the day, along with Mr. Fromm. Former political prisoner Terry Tremaine has been  a victim of Richard Warman who had charged him under Sec. 13 (the Internet section provisions of the Canadian Human Rights Act) and under Sec. 319 of the Criminal Code (the “hate law”) for his Internet postings on history and race.  Mr. Tremaine explained how Warman had cost him his job as a university lecturer and continued to complain to the courts with a view to jailing him for “contempt of court.”

Ship Docks, Canadians Taken For Ride

Ship Docks, Canadians Taken For Ride

As details emerge about the origins of the latest smuggling ship, it is obvious that Canada has been badly outclassed by seasoned swindlers.  Again.  Shortly after the MV Sun Sea arrived, Public Safety Minister Vic Toews said his officials had advised him the Tamil Tigers (LTTE) were behind the operation and that the group may have realized a cool $20-million from the operation.  Hey, who wouldn't circumnavigate the globe for profits like that?  As a proscribed terror group, LTTE is forbidden fundraising activities in Canada, but stuff a money-spinning smuggling ship with paying illegals and the World's Biggest Pushover will actually send out the navy to tow you in!  The cargo makes landfall, the cargo pays.  So in addition to everything else, Canada becomes enabler in chief to the ancient evil of indentured servitude.  Or worse.  Note that of the nearly 600 spurious refugees that arrived on Chinese smuggling ships a decade ago, just 16 were ruled legitimate; most simply dropped off Canada's notoriously lax radar and disappeared.  Canada's milquetoast strategy isn't really working for us when cell after cell of newcomer terrorists are plotting against the nicest people in the world.

As the article below makes clear, LTTE are constantly on the lookout for exploitable weaknesses, whether in foetid Thai seaports or useful idiot receiving countries: In 2008 and 2009, the Tamil refugee claim success rate was above 90%, although Canadians recently learned that 71% of these so-called refugees head to Sri Lanka when vacation time rolls around.  More risible, a full month before the Tamil "refugee" ship arrived, the UN High Commission for Refugees removed Tamils from the endangered list: "Sri Lankans originating from the north of the country are no longer in need of international protection under broader refugee criteria or complementary forms of protection solely on the basis of risk of indiscriminate harm. In light of the improved human rights and security situation in Sri Lanka, there is no longer a need for group-based protection mechanisms or for a presumption of eligibility for Sri Lankans of Tamil ethnicity originating from the north of the country."  (UNHCR Eligibility Guidelines for Assessing the International Protection Needs of Asylum-seekers from Sri Lanka, July 5, 2010 HRC/EG/SLK/10/03)

LTTE must not be mistaken for some rag-tag insurgency: They ran their own merchant navy and financed a civil war/ethnic cleansing campaign over 30 years by way of heroin trafficking, flesh smuggling, credit card fraud, forged document services and ethnic shakedown/protection rackets that spanned the globe from Geneva to Bangkok.  Toronto saw open street warfare -- drive bys and machete action -- for a decade between rival Tamil gangs, VVT and AK Kannon.  LTTE may be down after a decisive defeat, but not out and it's ready to regroup.  This is a single-minded mission to carve out a racially pure Tamil homeland within someone else's disappointingly diverse nation.  Note however, that it is Canadians who are demonized as "racists" by Tamil advocates and activists posturing at the foot of the gangplank.  In 2008, years after al-Qaeda became a household word, the FBI would identify LTTE as "amongst the most dangerous and deadly extremist outfits in the world."  Which explains why the MV Sun Sea gave the continental US a wide berth as it made for the world's most slack-jawed doormat.

So why couldn't Canada turn the ship away?  As usual, we were lied to.  We were told that our border agencies could do nothing as the MV Sun Sea steamed toward us, because it was a legitimately flagged and registered Thai ship.  In fact, it was an unregistered rogue vessel and Canada was well within rights to intercept and turn it.  The ship loaded its human cargo in Thailand.  Even if Ottawa chooses to ignore the dictates of UNHCR, these passengers embarked in a safe third country.  Real refugees do not abandon a safe haven, nor do real refugees shop for asylum -- the ship sailed past a hundred countries to reach Bonanza-Land.

The saddest thing is that even in the darkest days of civil strife, Tamils in Sri Lanka knew the government heard them.  It's a luxury Canadians simply do not enjoy.  No one wanted this ship to land.  Knowing that it was a terrorist fundraising operation -- that human smuggling itself is an offence -- Ottawa ignored the wishes of its citizens, lied to us, and permitted this odious pirate ship to make landfall.  Captive taxpayers are on the hook for years of upkeep, assessments and appeals.  In truth, there's nothing very appealing in any of this.

Send the Illegals Back: CFIRC Protesters Tell Government

Send the Illegals Back: CFIRC Protesters in Victoria Tell Government

VICTORIA. August 14, 2010. Under a brilliant summer son, two dozen supporters of the Canada First Immigration Reform Committee protested outside Canadian Forces Base Esquimalt and demanded that the Canadian Government protect Canadian sovereignty and deport all 490 illegals aboard the Sun Sea, now docked at CFB Esquimalt.

“I was here 11 years ago, when six rusty boats smuggled in some 600 Chinese illegals” CFIRC Director Paul Fromm told reporters. “The immigration minister of the day, Elinor Caplan, preached acceptance, stated she did not see her role as ‘gatekeeper,’ but spat fire and brimstone against the evil of people smuggling. Nothing happened. Virtually, one has been prosecuted.

Canada talks a good game about punishing people smuggling, “If we’re serious, we take the profit out of people smuggling. We don’t let these sneaks in.”

The Government has totally failed to protect Canada and Canadians. This is part of a Tamil Tiger people smuggling operation. Public Safety Minister Vic Toews says Canada is against “people smugglers” but letting these sneaks in through the backdoor just rewards the “people smugglers.” “Mr. Toews looked tough and determined, but there have been no prosecutions of those who brought in last October’s boatload of illegals,” says Canada First Immigration Reform Committee Director Paul Fromm. You stop human smugglers by refusing to reward their clients. Turn the smuggler ships away and the sordid practice will stop,” Mr. Fromm added.

“It’s a matter of national sovereignty. Foreign ships up to no good should not be allowed into Canadian waters. Foreign ships engaged in human smuggling operations should not gain admittance to Canadian waters on principle:

Joining the protest was prominent free speech attorney Douglas H. Christie, the Battling Barrister, and a renowned local singer with long roots in British Columbia. A number of people were attracted to the hastily organized protest by reports on local radio: one couple were visitors from Montreal and another woman hailed from Calgary.

CFB Esquimalt officers discussed the location of the protest in advance with Mr. Fromm and it was agreed that the protesters and press would meet in a largely vacant parking lot just outside the main gates to the base. The parking lot commanded a beautiful view of the Straits of Juan de Fuca and the mountains of Washington State beyond. Hidden just out of view in the harbour was the people smugglers’ ship.

In his comments to the press, Mr. Fromm pointed out that Canadian taxpayers will be put to huge expenses in terms of processing the 490 Tamils then showering them with most of the rights of Canadian citizens – welfare, public housing, medicare, legal aid, dental care, language and job training – through the years it will take to assess their refugee claims and subsequent appeals.  |”British Columbians, who have chaffed under long waits for health care and the spectacle of hospital wings being shut down because of cost considerations, have every reason to be upset seeing the system instantly jumping to help people who are sneaking into Canada and who have never contributed a cent in taxes,” said Mr.Fromm.

“Canada is being played as a patsy by the Tamil Tigers, “says Mr. Fromm. Last fall, they sent two probes, a ship to Australia and one to Canada. Australia sent the Tiger boat packing and wouldn’t allow it to land. Canada went out and welcomed them into Canadian waters, despite the fact that we suspected at least a third of those on board were Tiger militants. Residue of both drugs and explosives were found on the passengers’ clothes. Most of the men in their 20s or 30s could give no account of their education or work history over the past decade, strongly suggesting they were tiger soldiers. “And, yet, this lot is loose in Canada and the cash registers just keep ka-chinging with the Canadian taxpayer footing the bill,” Mr. Fromm charges.

The Sun Sea is just the beginning of an all-out invasion. The Globe and Mail (August 5, 2010) warned that at least two more Tiger ships are prowling Asian waters to see whether Canada will again prove a wimp and allow the incursion.

The protest attracted considerable local and national media coverage; including C-FAX Radio, CBC, the Toronto Star, the National Post, the Vancouver ProvinceLa Presse, Victoria News,  CBC Radio (French) and others.

STOP THE TAMIL TIGER SMUGGLING SHIP -- ANOTHER COSTLY BOATLOAD OF ILLEGALS

VICTORIA: Concerned citizens of Victoria will protest Saturday, August 14, at 2:00 pm at the entrance to CFB Esquimalt  (end of Esquimalt St) to protest the government’s decision to allow a boatload of illegals to enter Canadian waters on Thursday.

A Thai-registered boat, the Sun Sea, is captained by a Tamil Tiger leader and reportedly is carrying about 490 would-be refugees claimants. Canada lists the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Elam (LTTE) as a terrorist group. Several of their fundraising fronts have been shut down by the Federal Government.

The Government has totally failed to protect Canada and Canadians. This is part of a Tamil Tiger people smuggling operation. “It’s a matter of national sovereignty. Foreign ships up to no good should not be allowed into Canadian waters. Foreign ships engaged in human smuggling operations should not gain admittance to Canadian waters on principle:  human smuggling is illegal,” Mr. Fromm explains. Other grounds for keeping the Sun Sea out include what is in the best interest of Canadians - what is in the best interest of human cargo destined to be utilized as sweated labour, or more chillingly, as operatives - and what is in the best interest of an ethnic community that has long endured Tiger fundraising shakedowns without recourse to Canada's legal remedies

Keith Martin: How arrogant

[How arrogant -- to  take the phones off the hook because your constituents presume to express an opinion?  It'd be bad enough if we weren't paying for it. And, of course, we were never asked about the change in our immigration patterns and our planned replacement.

VICTORIA RESIDENTS FLOODING MP KEITH MARTIN'S PHONE LINES WITH PROTESTS AGAIINST TAMIL ILLEGALS

Vancouver Province Aug 12 2010

MP Keith Martin says outraged Victorians have been flooding his office with angry phone calls for days as hundreds of Tamil refugees head for Vancouver Island.

“We’ve just had to put [the phone] on voicemail because my staff was on the phone all day long,” said Martin, whose constituency includes CFB Esquimault, where the refugees are expected to be brought.

“They’re angry because they don’t want the Tamil people to be let into Canada and they don’t want them drawing from our social services because they’re already under a lot of pressure.”

He said the callers are accusing the refugees, which Ottawa confirmed number close to 500, of jumping the immigration queue.

“Some just want them to be turned away at sea, which we can’t do for a multitude of reasons,” he said. “Legally you could do that [before the boat reached Canadian waters], but that would be signing their death warrant.” [WHY CAN'T WE? THE U.S. AND AUSTRALIA DO. WHAT DEATH WARRANT?]

Many are also concerned that members of the Tamil Tigers, banned from Canada because the group is considered a terrorist group, could be on the boat.

Martin said Canada should determine which of the refugees are legitimate, a process he concedes can take years. The Liberal MP said he supports the Conservative government’s plan to speed up the process.

He also proposed Canada ask the United Nations to set up processing centres in Sri Lanka to determine the eligibility of refugees before they leave Sri Lanka.

Two representatives from a Toronto-based National Council of Canadian Tamils are headed to Victoria to ensure the refugees know their rights, said spokesman Krisna Saravanamuttu.

In response to fears that terrorists are on the boat, he said Canada has a right to protect its national security but urged the country to treat the refugees with compassion.
“Canada has already accepted tens of thousands of Tamil immigrants, and why is this situation any different?” said Saravanamuttu, who lives in Toronto’s Tamil community of 300,000, the largest disapora outside of Sri Lanka.
He said after the claimants are processed in Vancouver, “it’s reasonable to expect many of them will come to Toronto.”
Toronto lawyer Lorne Waldman, who represented 30 of the 76 Tamil refugees who arrived by boat in B.C. last fall, said many of his clients work in restaurants, factories and the service industry.

The claimants are eligible for health care and financial assistance while they settle and apply for work permits, according to Immigration Canada’s website.

The website refutes a widely circulated e-mail stating that the claimants receive more per month than a Canadian pensioner.

Waldman said refugee claimants are eligible for welfare while they look for work.
Martin said the claimants don’t receive as much as a pensioner’s $1,100 or $1,200 a month and they don’t receive the payments for long.

Meanwhile, Victoria General Hospital was preparing for the arrival of the Tamils by reopening the hospital’s old emergency ward and reopening a closed wing for any that required inpatient care, said spokeswoman Shannon Marshall.

She said the Tamils would be kept separate from other patients and staff would be provided with precautions against any infectious diseases they may have.

OPEN LETTER TO JASON KENNEY -- STOP THE TAMIL TIGER SHIP!

August 7, 2010

The Hon. Jason Kenney,

Minister of Immigration and Multiculturalism,

1168 137 Ave, SE,
Calgary, AB

Dear Mr. Kenney:

I write you  and ask you to take a clear stand and warn the MV Sun Sea, a Thai-registered boat captained by the Tamil Tigers and headed for Canadian waters with 200 illegals aboard, that it  will not be allowed to land.

Somewhere not far from Canadian waters, a Thai-flagged smuggling ship, probably part of the terrorist Tamil Tigers' navy, is lurking to make a run for Canadian waters and, you guessed it, mass "refugee" claims. "The U.S. Coast Guard's Pacific Division has confirmed the sighting of the MV Sun  Sea, a vessel believed to be carrying 200 suspected asylum seekers. ...'All I can say is that it is carrying the Thai flag  and is believed to travelling toward British Columbia,' Adam Stanton of the Coast Guard ... said [July 23.] ...

Sri Lanka's high commissioner in Ottawa contends the ship is captained by a man named Vinod, a senior member of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam." (Globe and Mail, July 24, 2010) Incidentally, the Tamil Tigers are listed a terrorist group in Canada and fundraising for them is illegal. "'There is no war now  in Sri Lanka, and this is definitely not a humanitarian exercise,' Chitrsanganee Wagiswara said. 'The ship is captained by a Sea Tiger leader and these are illegal migrants who are trying to come into Canada illegally. This is part of the international activity to smuggle people in."

It's not as if it's a surprise raid by the illegals and the people smugglers. The Philippines Coast Guard sounded the alert. Papers in Ceylon openly discuss this latest attempted invasion of Canada. We've even tried to get the Asians to do our work for us -- protect our shores: "The Canadian government has been keeping a watch on the Sun Sea (formerly the Harin Panich 19) since early May when, in partnership with Australia, it asked the Thai government to board two vessels allegedly preparing to ferry migrants to Canada or Australia," reports the National Post (July 17, 2010)

The Post report continues: "Federal lawyers have advised the government that once migrant smuggling vessels are in international waters, they cannot be forcibly turned back. ... If the Sun Sea does make the weeks-long journey across the Pacific Ocean, it would likely be intercepted and boarded by the navy once it enters Canadian waters. It would then be brought to Vancouver Island, where the Immigration and Refugee Board would process those on board."

Yes, and the refugee industry will shift into high gear with immigration lawyers, government investigators and defence lawyers -- both sides paid for by the taxpayer -- swinging into action,. Then the illegals will have to detained and fed or let go and housed and fed and medicated and given English instruction and job training , all, all at taxpayers' expense, while we hold hearings and scratch our heads and decide whether they're REALLY "refugees." Then, if the decision goes against the invaders, the appeals could drag on -- again, all at our expense -- for years.

Perhaps,  your Government should consult the Australian Government's lawyers. Last year, Sri Lankan smugglers sent out two probes. One boat of illegals headed for Australia, where they were told to shove off. The other headed for Canada. Our navy escorted them to Esquimalt. They were then bussed to Vancouver, fed, housed and an initial processing began. Although a third were suspected of being Tamil Tigers and both drugs and explosives residue were detected on their clothing and although the men, mostly in their 20s or 30s had scant educational or job history (because of long Tamil terrorist military service perhaps?) the lot were released and asked to report, if it isn't too much trouble, for their eventual hearings. Meanwhile, the Canadian taxpayers are paying for their keep, their medical care, their lawyers, etc.

Michael Byers, Professor of International Law at the University of British Columbia, clarifies that we DO have the power to interdict and turn away the illegals: "Australia, the destination of choice for most Tamil asylum seekers, is now closing the door on them.  Ships carrying asylum seekers are interdicted on the high seas and their passengers taken to Christmas Island, a far-flung fragment of Australia that has been deemed by the government to fall outside its territory for the purposes of refugee law.
 ...

If a ship is flagged by a friendly country like Thailand, Canada can simply ask for permission to stop the vessel on the high seas. Furthermore, permission is not required if the vessel is unregistered or proceeding under false pretenses, such as flying the flag of a country where it is not registered, or using a fake name.

In 2002, the United States adopted a policy of intercepting Haitian migrants on small boats and rafts and returning them directly from the high seas to Haiti. The Canadian government at first questioned whether the new policy was consistent with international refugee law, but later sent a frigate to assist the Americans. France, Greece, Italy and Spain all engage in high-seas interdictions of asylum seekers.

In addition, coastal states have rights to a 'contiguous zone,' between 12 and 24 nautical miles off shore, within which they can act to prevent any violations of customs and immigration laws that are about to occur. In Canada, such actions are facilitated by the Marine Transportation Security Act which requires ships to give 96 hours notice before entering territorial waters. If a ship hasn't provided notice, or has been told not to enter the territorial sea but is sailing resolutely toward it, there is no question -- we can stop it."

So, it's a matter of WILL. The government has the power, territorial integrity demands it, national sovereignty should insist on it: The MV Sun Sea should be turned away before it enters Canadian waters.

The Globe and Mail (August 5, 2010) warned that more Tamil Tigers smuggling ships are waiting is Asia, watching to see whether you will act with resolve or, once again, cave in an allow dodgy people tp backdoor their way into Canada. “Two shiploads of potential asylum seekers are waiting to see how Canada deals with a vessel expected to arrive in B.C. next week with 200 Tamils on board before deciding if they, too, will head for Canada’s shores, a top terrorism expert says.

‘There are two other vessels that are planning to conduct a similar voyage to Canada,’ said Rohan Gunaratna, who heads a research centre in Singapore. Dr. Gunaratna, whose area of expertise is Sri Lanka’s Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam, declined to disclose his sources but was one of the first people to warn Canada about the MV Sun Sea – which reports say is in the eastern Pacific Ocean bound for British Columbia – when the ship was initially travelling to Australia. … ‘[Because of] Canada’s response to Ocean Lady last year, the Tamil Tigers decided to dispatch Sun Sea to Canada, and depending on Canadian response to this vessel, the two other ships will arrive,’ Dr. Gunaratna said. He added that the two ships are in South Asian waters collecting passengers. ‘They are in a phase of gathering money from those who will travel,’ Dr. Gunaratna said.”

Your government rightly banned the LTTE as a terrorist group and has shut down several Tiger fundraising front groups. Torontonians got a taste of the power of the Tigers in May, 2009, when thousands of Tamils, brazenly flying the flag of the terrorist Tigers took over and blocked many Toronto streets, including the Gardiner Expressway for six hours on Mother’s Day.

We again call on you to act proactively and announce that the NV Sun Sea will not be allowed into Canadian waters. Should any individual aboard have a legitimate refugee claim to make, it should be made at a Canadian Embassy or High Commission abroad.”

Sincerely yours,

Paul Fromm
